Rustavi citizens will be served with 22 new busses from February 8, 2021. City is expected to receive additional 18 new busses in the nearest future.

✅ Municipal transport fleet of Rustavi has been fully replenished for the first time over the past decades.

✅ Almost 60 000 socially vulnerable households, persons with disabilities, veterans, teachers, pupils, students and pensioners of Rustavi will benefit from concessional tariffs on municipal transportation.

  • It is worth noting that bus transportation in the first 2 weeks will be free for all.

New busses have been procured for Rustavi by the Municipal Development Fund (MDF) of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia (MRDI) within the scope of an Urban Transport Development Program. Busses of EURO 5 standard have been acquired with financial support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

✅ New busses comply with all the technical requirements of advanced standards, including the air ventilation systems of European type.

✅ Recommendations for the prevention of COVID-19 will be adhered to during the bus transportation. Busses will be disinfected at the end of every day.

✅ New busses are important also for the protection of the environment.

✅ Every bus is fully adapted to the needs of persons with disabilities.

✅ Bus fleet is actively replenished in regions.

183 busses were purchased for 7 cities of Georgia with support of the EBRD in 2020:

  • Kutaisi (60)
  • Rustavi (40)
  • Gori (30)
  • Zugdidi (25)
  • Telavi (10)
  • Poti (10)
  • Batumi (8 electric busses)

Out of them, 126 busses have already been delivered to municipalities.

✅ Project will enable the population to commute in modern, safe and comfortable municipal transport.
