With State Support COVID Department has been Established at the Republican Hospital of Tbilisi to Cater the Needs of 400 Patients

New COVID Department has been established at Central University Clinic Named After Academician Nicholas Kipshidze (i.e. Republican Hospital of Tbilisi) within the State Medical Holding. It will cater the needs of 400 patients. Department is equipped with state-of-the-art medical hardware.

✅ Cost of the project is 8 MLN GEL and it was implemented with public funds of the country.

✅ Intensive and Critical Care Units within the COVID Department are equipped with electronic and manual hospital beds, oxygen concentrators and emergency critical equipment for escape breathing. Clinic has 200 ICU beds and another 200 will be added in February 2021.

✅ In addition, three units of oxygen generators have been purchased for the Republican Hospital of Tbilisi, which ensures an uninterrupted and centralised supply of oxygen to patients.

✅ Medical infrastructure was significantly boosted in 2020:

 

  • Batumi Republican and Rukhi Multiprofile Hospitals were launched and equipped;
  • Construction and rehabilitation of inpatient care units was completed in 341 villages;
  • Administrative buildings of 26 Emergency Rescue (ER) units were launched;
  • Vehicle pool of ER was replenished with 140 units;
  • Village doctors were provided with over 900 computers and 400 inpatient care unites received medical treatment inventory;
  • Medical equipment has been purchased for empowering hospitals by the State and within donor supported projects. It includes high-tech medical equipment, ICU Vehicles, individual protection means and other essential inventory.
