Ozurgeti school #1 for 1,000 students is now fully rehabilitated

The Ozurgeti public school #1 has turned 175. Initially, it served as a seminary boasting such students as Noe Zhordania, Noe Ramishvili, Egnate Ninoshvili, Solomon Cheishvili, Avksenty Megrelidze, Varlam Simonishvili, Filimon Koridze, Niko Marr, Rezo Esadze, Akaki Bakradze, and other prominent Georgians.

Under the project, both of the school complex buildings have been rehabilitated, with learning spaces, labs with modern technologies, a library, a cafeteria, a conference hall, and a gym, and outdoor stadium, and a recreation area put in place. The school is adapted for students with special educational needs.

In addition, an innovations center has been built on the school's premises to enable students to learn modern technologies.

Despite the pandemic, educational infrastructure projects were implemented without delays throughout 2020, with:

  • 30 schools built
  • Construction of 60 schools to be finalized in 2021
  • Wet areas rehabilitated in almost 800 public schools
  • 9 public schools have been fully rehabilitated, and over 150 public schools have been partially rehabilitated
