Citizen Support Continues under the Anti-Crisis Plan Print Version

New phase of targeted social support gets launched!

For citizens who lost jobs and income from employment. They will be paid 1200 GEL (i.e. 200 GEL for 6 months).

Compensation will be paid to individuals who were employed for two or more months from January to November 2020 and had income from employment and who did not get income from employment for one or more months from December 2020 through February 2021 (including the suspension/termination of contractual relations). In addition, individuals are eligible to get the compensation if they suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic on the grounds of being pregnant, childbirth, child care, adoption of a child thus being on leave.

Information on the referred individuals should be submitted by employers by 20th date of every month to the Inland Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.

Also, payment of following compensations has been resumed:

Households registered in the common database of socially vulnerable groups, whose rating score ranges from 0 through 100 000 and have 3 or more children aged under 16, will get a compensation in the volume of 600 GEL (i.e. 100 GEL for 6 months)

Households registered in the common database of socially vulnerable groups, whose rating score ranges from 65 000 through 100 000, will get a compensation in the volume of 600 GEL (i.e. 100 GEL a month on average depending on the number of members in the household: if only includes 1 member, will get 70 GEL; if includes 2 members, will get 90 GEL, if includes more than 2 members, will get +35 GEL per member).

Persons with acute disabilities as well as disabled children will get a compensation of 600 GEL in total (i.e. 100 GEL for 6 months)

Support package for citizens of Georgia will total over 610 MLN GEL within Stage Four of the Anti-Crisis Plan for 2020-2021.

It is worth noting that one-off compensations in the volume of 300 GEL have been paid within the scope of Stage Four of the Anti-Crisis Plan of Georgia to employees and sole traders, whose economic activities suspended as a result of additional precision-targeted restrictions imposed on November 28, 2020. Compensations have been paid to 120 407 individuals and total payments have amounted over 35.6 MLN GEL.

Besides, citizens received utility bill payments during the first stage of blanket social assistance for 3 months of winter, while the utility subsidies will be valid for 4 months within the fourth stage of the Anti-Crisis Plan (November-February). On average, 2.5 million subscribers are benefiting from the initiative. The State Budget of Georgia for 2021 has earmarked 105 MLN GEL for the blanket payment of utility bills for the population of the country.
