The Government of Georgia plans to carry out the systemic registration of a total of 1.2 million hectares of land for citizens over a period of three years.

This means that all plots of land in Georgia, with the exception of those located in the occupied territories, will be registered.

The reform of land registration in Georgia was launched in 2016 and has been successfully implemented. Citizens have registered 1 million hectares of land within the framework of the reform from 2016 to date, while prior to the reform, a comparable area of land was registered over a period of 25 years - from the restoration of independence until 2016.
Stage one: The eight-month systemic land registration project will begin in the summer of 2020 and will be implemented in several mountainous regions.

The project will be expanded from the beginning of next year and will cover all regions of Georgia.
