Irakli Chikovani: All Citizens Arriving in Georgia Will Be Quarantined and Additional Quarantine Zones Will Be Created at the Borders Print Version

It has been decided that air travel will be completely suspended starting tomorrow and only the flights operated by Georgian Airways and coordinated with the Government of Georgia will be carried out, stated Irakli Chikovani, advisor to the prime minister of Georgia for international affairs, during the briefing held after the conclusion of yet another session of the Interagency Coordination Council on the coronavirus, which was chaired by Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia.
As Irakli Chikovani stated, every citizen entering Georgia will go through quarantine.

"Every citizen who enters Georgia - and you are aware that it has been several days since only the citizens of Georgia have been entering our country - every person who enters Georgia, regardless of where they arrive from, will be moved to quarantine, where they will be under the supervision of doctors, and all decisions applying to them will be made in accordance with the relevant procedures," Irakli Chikovani noted.
According to the prime minister's spokesman, additional quarantine capabilities will be set up in the vicinity of the Larsi, Red Bridge, and Sarpi border crossing points.
According to Irakli Chikovani, the aforementioned decision will provide the government with greater control over the situation.

As the prime minister's advisor pointed out, all retail outlets - with the exception of food and grocery facilities, as well as open agricultural markets, pharmacies, gas stations, and banks - will be closed.
According to him, all other retail outlets should be closed.

"I would like to touch on the decision that was voiced yesterday in connection with retail trade - I would like to stress that all retail outlets must be closed, with the exception of food and grocery facilities, as well as open agricultural markets, pharmacies, gas stations, and banks. According to him, the prime minister instructed the economic team to submit concrete proposals that will be implemented in addition to the economic stimulus package that was launched several weeks ago.
