On March 7, 2012 was held the meeting of the Georgian Government. The agenda included 72 items.
Before the meeting started, Prime Minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri, talked about securities of treasury. We present Prime Minister's speech:
"Good day. Before we discuss the issues of the government meeting, I would like to give the public and members of the government a piece of information on the Ministry of Finance, which this time deals with securities of treasury. For the first time in the history of Georgia, today, we have issued ten-year securities of treasury denominated in GEL. Our Eurobond has been issued in USD so far. This was a successful transaction. We have issued securities of five million; the demand was three times higher, while the interest rate was shown at 12%.
I would like to remind the public that today we have one-year, two-year, five-year and ten-year securities in circulation. Interest rate is being reduced on a day-to-day basis to all these directions, which additionally shows how great the trust from economy and private sector is. This will attract additional investments and create additional jobs in our economy."
