On November 10, 2011, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri presented the 10-Point Plan of the government to representatives of healthcare field at New Hospital. At the meetin
g, the Prime Minister talked about reforms planned in healthcare field.
"All pensioners, women over 60 and men over 65 years of age will receive insurance package. These are 670,000 people, and this number will also include children's insurance.
In 2006-2007, there were 26 thousand insured patients, insured people in Georgia. Not very long ago, no one in Georgia knew about insurance business, ten years ago, there were no insurance business at all. Today, up to 1.5 million people are insured.
From September 1 of the next year, 900 thousand insured people will be added to this number. In total, there will be up to 2.5 million insured people 
by September of the next year.
This is the greatest step forward. At first, when we insured very many people at the same time, insurance companies had a very hard tim
e. During this period, when we were taking decisions about this, negotiations were carried out and insurance companies participated in them as well.
From September 1, 2012, a new flow will be quite high; the whole infrastructure is to be prepared. The aim of the 10-Point Plan and commitment of the President is the pension package to be of 100 dollars, i.e the 
equivalent of 100 dollars in GEL.
We were asked very frequently - what does the pension package mean? We call the pension package to a very simple thing. This is an insurance package + sum. This is the pension package, how we would like to be," pointed out Nika Gilauri at the meeting with representatives of healthcare field.
