We have 740 new cases confirmed in the past 24 hours, Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force under the Interagency Coordination Council, stated during today's briefing at the Administration of the Government.
He reported the latest COVID-19 statistics.

"Allow me to quote the latest coronavirus statistics posted on stopcov.ge as of February 16.

20,549 tests have been conducted throughout the country under the intensive testing program in the past 24 hours, including 14,802 antigen tests and 5,747 PCR tests.

Consequently, we have 740 new cases confirmed in the past 24 hours. Since the first outbreak of COVID-19 in the country, we have had a total of 266,462 confirmed cases.

As for positive test rates, the daily rate for February 15 is 3.6%, and 2.9% and 2.4% for the past 14 and 7 days, respectively.

We have 469 recoveries in the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of recoveries to 259,228.

Unfortunately, 14 people have died in the past 24 hours. Since the outset of the pandemic, we have had a total of 3,377 fatalities.

Of the 740 cases identified today, 328 were confirmed in Tbilisi, 32 in Adjara, 138 in Imereti, 25 in Kvemo Kartli, 69 in Shida Kartli, 55 in Guria, 41 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 33 in Kakheti, 9 in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 7 in Samtskhe-Javakheti, and 3 in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.

Presently, we have 3,831 active infection cases. Of which:
• 1,848 persons are treated in hospitals, including 816 in Tbilisi, 152 in Adjara, and 446 in Imereti.
• We have 395 severe cases, including 168 in Tbilisi, 38 in Adjara, and 114 in Imereti, of whom 103 are on a ventilator, including 69 in Tbilisi, 6 in Adjara, and 14 in Imereti.
• 230 persons are in clinical hotels, including 112 in Tbilisi, 102 in Adjara, and 12 in Imereti.
• 1,753 persons are recovering at home.

We have 242 persons in quarantine zones, including 113 in Tbilisi and 44 in Adjara.

From October 6 through February 15, a total of 22,864 persons have been transported from the state border into quarantine zones.

Presently, 11,020 persons are self-isolating, including 6,112 in Tbilisi, 609 in Adjara, and 1,204 in Imereti," Berdia Sichinava said.
