1,006 new infection cases have been confirmed in the past 24 hours, Deputy Head of the Task Force under the Interagency Coordination Council, stated during today's briefing at the Administration of the Government.

He discussed the latest coronavirus statistics posted as of January 26 on stopcov.ge.

"17,349 tests have been conducted throughout the country under the intensive testing program in the past 24 hours, including 5,857 antigen tests and 11,492 PCR tests.

Consequently, we have 1,006 new cases confirmed in the past 24 hours. Since the first outbreak of COVID-19 in the country, we have had a total of 254,822 confirmed cases.

We have 1,050 recoveries in the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of recoveries to 244,446.

Unfortunately, 25 people have died in the past 24 hours. Since the outset of the pandemic, we have had a total of 3,096 fatalities.

Of the 1,006 cases identified today, 426 were confirmed in Tbilisi, 23 in Adjara, 202 in Imereti, 49 in Kvemo Kartli, 79 in Shida Kartli, 17 in Guria, 98 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 69 in Kakheti, 22 in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 15 in Samtskhe-Javakheti, and 6 in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.

Presently, we have 7,254 active infection cases. 3,069 persons are treated in hospitals, including 1,545 in Tbilisi, 219 in Adjara, and 605 in Imereti. We have 689 severe cases, including 306 in Tbilisi, 51 in Adjara, and 177 in Imereti, of whom 193 are on a ventilator, including 144 in Tbilisi, 1 in Adjara, and 23 in Imereti.
353 persons are in clinical hotels, including 178 in Tbilisi, 118 in Adjara, and 18 in Imereti. 3,832 persons are recovering at home.

We have 490 persons in quarantine zones, including 189 in Tbilisi, 98 in Adjara, and 9 in Imereti.

From October 6 through January 25, a total of 21,977 persons have been transported from the state border into quarantine zones.

Presently, 17,801 persons are self-isolating, including 11,135 in Tbilisi, 979 in Adjara, and 1,694 in Imereti," Berdia Sichinava said.
