Berdia Sichinava: 4 472 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed and 4 058 recoveries have been witnessed within the last 24 hours Print Version

As of today, 4 472 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed within the last 24 hours. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press-briefing held today at the Government Administration.

He spoke about the most recent statistical data related to COVID-19 in Georgia.

"As of today, 4 472 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed within the last 24 hours. Since the detection of the first case the total number of infected has reached 127 942.

4 058 individuals have recovered within the last 24 hours, thus making the total number of recoveries reach 106 328.

Unfortunately, 34 new fatal cases have occurred within the last 24 hours. Since February 26, 2020 the total death toll has reached 1 195.

Out of 4 472 new cases detected today, geographic coverage of COVID-19 is as follows: 1 784 cases have been detected in Tbilisi, 683 - in Adjara, 662 - in Imereti, 292 - in Kvemo Kartli, 192 - in Shida Kartli, 123 - in Guria, 247 - in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 228 - in Kakheti, 127 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 93 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti and 41 - in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.

At present, active cases of COVID-19 have reached 20 393, out of which 6 286 individuals are treated at hospitals, out of which 2 760 are stationed in Tbilisi, 1 016 - in Adjara and 1 201 - in Imereti. Currently, acute health conditions are observed in the case of 942 patients, out of which 429 are based in Tbilisi, 150 - in Adjara and 214 - in Imereti. Lung ventilators are used in the case of 421 patients, out of which 179 are stationed in Tbilisi, 119 - in Adjara and 41 - in Imereti. 3 844 individuals are placed at COVID Hotels, out of which 1 291 are based in Tbilisi, 1 998 - in Adjara and 285 - in Imereti. 10 263 individuals are treated at home.

2 076 individuals are placed in quarantine, out of which 416 are located in Tbilisi, 1 049 - in Adjara and 35 - in Imereti.

In total, 18 623 individuals have been transported from the sovereign border to quarantine spaces in the period of October 6 through November 27, 2020.

At present, 56 041 individuals are in self-isolation, out of which 19 132 are based in Tbilisi, 14 670 - in Adjara and 4 765 - in Imereti" announced Berdia Sichinava.
