Berdia Sichinava: 3 697 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed and 2 409 recoveries have been witnessed within the past 24 hours Print Version

As of today, 3 697 new cases of COVID-19 are within the past 24 hours. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press-briefing held at the Government Administration today.

He spoke about the most recent statistical data and measures taken by the Government of Georgia within the last 24 hours in relation with COVID-19.

"As of today, 3 697 new cases are confirmed within the last 24 hours. Since the detection of the first case, the total number of test-positive individuals infected with COVID-19 has reached 93 092.

2 409 individuals have recovered within the past 24 hours, thus making the total number of recoveries reach 73 877.

Unfortunately, 38 people died of the viral infection within the past 24 hours, out of which 16 deaths occurred in Tbilisi, 8 - in Adjara, 8 - in Imereti, 1 - in Shida Kartli, 3 - in Kvemo Kartli and 2 - in Kakheti. Since February 26, 2020 the total death toll has reached 853.

Out of 3 697 cases detected today, geographic coverage is as follows: 1 256 cases were detected in Tbilisi, 664 - in Adjara, 538 - in Imereti, 243 - in Kvemo Kartli, 175 - in Shida Kartli, 127 - in Guria, 304 - in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 238 - in Kakheti, 91 - in Mtskheta-Mtieneti, 55 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti and 6 - in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.

At present, the total number of active cases of viral infection is 18 336. 5 833 individuals are treated at hospitals, out of which 2 689 are stationed in Tbilisi, 928 - in Adjara, 1 185 - in Imereti. Acute health conditions are observed in the case of 869 patients, out of which 423 are stationed in Tbilisi, 145 - in Adjara and 190 - in Imereti. Lung ventilators are used in the case of 377 patients, out of which 173 are based in Tbilisi, 115 - in Adjara and 37 - in Imereti. 3 518 individuals are placed at COVID Hotels, out of which 1 679 are based in Adjara, 1 203 - in Tbilisi and 322 - in Imeteri. 8 985 individuals are getting medical treatment at home.

2 186 individuals are in quarantine, out of which 399 are based in Tbilisi, 1 133 - in Adjara and 32 - in Imereti.

In total, 16 296 individuals have been transported from the border in the period of October 6 through November 18, 2020.

As of today, 49 047 individuals are in self-isolation, out of which 10 765 are based in Tbilisi, 18 066 - in Adjara and 5 236 - in Imereti" announced Berdia Sichinava.
