Berdia Sichinava: 1,852 New Confirmed Cases of Infection Have Been Detected in Last 24 Hours; 1,696 People Have Recovered Print Version

As of today, 1,852 new confirmed cases of infection have been identified in the last 24 hours, Berdia Sichinava, deputy head of the Task Force operating under the Interagency Coordination Council stated at a briefing at the Administration of the Government.

He discussed the latest statistics on the coronavirus, as well as the measures implemented by the government in the last 24 hours.

"As of today, 1,852 new confirmed cases of infection have been identified in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 detected in the country since the first case of infection stands at 42,579.

We are maintaining a positive dynamic in terms of the increase of the number of recoveries as of today as well. Namely, 1,696 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, and the total number of recovered people has increased to 26,800.

Unfortunately, deaths have also been reported in the last 24 hours. 7 people have died, including 6 in Adjara and 1 in Kakheti. A total of 342 people have died since 26 February 2020.

The geographic breakdown of the 1,852 cases of infection that were detected today is as follows: 650 in Tbilisi, 389 in Adjara, 411 in Imereti, 68 in Kvemo Kartli, 51 in Shida Kartli, 28 in Guria, 114 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 20 in Kakheti, 51 in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 27 in Samtskhe-Javakheti, and 13 in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.

At this stage, the number of active cases of infection stands at 15,411. 4,293 people are being treated in hospitals, including 2,125 people in the hospitals of Tbilisi, and 709 in Adjara. 519 patients are seriously ill, including 279 people in Tbilisi and 86 in Adjara. Of them, 230 people are on ventilators, including 100 people in Tbilisi and 83 in Adjara. 2,236 people are being treated at COVID hotels, including 1,077 people in Adjara and 837 in Tbilisi. 8,882 people are receiving treatment at home.

We have 2,977 people in quarantine, including 609 people in Tbilisi and 1,419 in Adjara.

A total of 10,982 people have been transferred from the border between 6 October and 1 November.
As of today, 29,876 people are in self-isolation, of whom 2,867 people are located in Tbilisi, 13,341 in Adjara, and 3,813 in Imereti.

These are the statistical data that reflect the current epidemiological situation in the country," Berdia Sichinava stated.
