Natia Mezvrishvili: We Retain the Positive Trend in Terms of the Increasing Number of Recoveries, With 2,881 People Having Recovered in the Last 24 Hours and 22,691 People Having Recovered in Total Print Version

Today, 1,673 new confirmed cases of infection have been detected in the last 24 hours, Government Administration Head Natia Mezvrishvili stated at a briefing held at the Administration of the Government.

She discussed the latest statistics on the coronavirus, as well as the measures implemented by the government in the last 24 hours.
"Today, 1,673 new confirmed cases of infection have been identified in the last 24 hours. The total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 detected in the country since the first case of infection stands at 38,936.
As I noted during yesterday's briefing, we had optimistic expectations in terms of the increasing number of recoveries and in this regard, the positive trend is retained today as well. Namely, 2,881 people have recovered in the last 24 hours, and the total number of recoveries has increased to 22,691.

Unfortunately, deaths have also been reported in the last 24 hours. 22 people have died, including 10 people in Tbilisi, 7 in Adjara, 4 in Imereti, and 1 in Samtskhe-Javakheti. A total of 307 people have died since 26 February 2020.
The geographic breakdown of the 1,673 cases of infection that were detected today is as follows: 684 in Tbilisi, 351 in Adjara, 214 in Imereti, 75 in Kvemo Kartli, 98 in Shida Kartli, 41 in Guria, 86 in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 52 in Kakheti, 23 in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 33 in Samtskhe-Javakheti, and 16 in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.

At this stage, the number of active cases of infection stands at 15,912. 4,136 people are being treated in hospitals, including 2,037 people in the hospitals of Tbilisi, and 699 in Adjara. 511 patients are seriously ill, including 256 people in Tbilisi and 77 in Adjara. Of them, 208 people are on ventilators, including 91 people in Tbilisi and 76 in Adjara. 2,245 people are being treated at COVID hotels, including 1,145 people in Adjara and 822 in Tbilisi. 9,531 people are receiving treatment at home.

We have 3,001 people in quarantine, including 596 people in Tbilisi and 1,435 in Adjara.
A total of 10,379 people have been transferred from the border to quarantine between 6 and 30 October.
As of today, 30,467 people are in self-isolation, of which 3,515 people are located in Tbilisi, 12,996 in Adjara, and 3,997 in Imereti.
