As of today, we have 1 928 new confirmed cases in the country, while 28 431 people in total have been confirmed to have COVID-19 since February 26, 2020. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force operating under the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press-briefing held today at the Government Administration.

Berdia Sichinava spoke about the most recent statistics of COVID-19 and measures implemented within the last 24 hours.

"As of today, we have 1 928 new confirmed cases in the country, while 28 431 people in total have been confirmed to have COVID-19 since February 26, 2020. Within the last 24 hours 604 have recovered and the total number of recovered patients has reached 10 767.

Unfortunately, 8 people died in the last 24 hours, thus reaching 201 deaths since February 26, 2020.

Out of the 1928 detected cases, 788 have been identified in Tbilisi, 551 - in Adjara, 245 - in Imereti, 87 - in Kvemo Kartli, 33 - in Shida Kartli, 35 - in Guria, 93 - in Samegrelo and Zemo Svaneti, 42 - in Kakheti, 20 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 27 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti, and 7 - in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.

At present, number of active infections is 17 437, out of which 3 766 people are treated at hospitals, from which 1 893 are stationed in Tbilisi and 714 - in Adjara; Acute health condition is observed in the case of 429 patients, out of which 201 are based in Tbilisi and 75 - in Adjara. Lung ventilators are used in 106 cases, including 59 - in Tbilisi and 25 in Adjara. COVID Hotels have admitted 2 268 individuals, out of which 1 247 are based in Adjara and 741 - in Tbilisi. Medical treatment at home is delivered to 11 403 patients.

4 112 individuals are kept in quarantine, out of which 868 are based in Tbilisi and 2 059 in Adjara.

Number of people transported from the border has reached 8 296 in the period of October 6-24, 2020.

As of today, 26 533 people are in self-isolation, out of which 3 237 are based in Tbilisi, 10 245 - in Adjara and 3 861 - in Imereti.

These are the statistical data, which reflect the current epidemic situation in the country, along with actions taken to address them, which is reported to the general public on a daily basis" noted Berdia Sichinava.
