As of today, 1 759 new cases of COVID infection have been confirmed within the last 24 hours. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of Task Force operating under the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press-briefing held at the Government Administration today.
He spoke about the current statistics on the COVID-19 available as of today.
"As of today, 1 759 new cases of COVID infection have been confirmed within the last 24 hours. Since detection of the first case of COVID-19, the total number of confirmed cases has reached 24 562. Daily recovery rate has reached 350 in the last 24 hours, thus making the total recovery rate equal to 9 751.
Unfortunately, 5 people died of the virus in the last 24 hours, thus making the total mortality rate equal to 183 since February 26, 20202.
Out of the 1 759 cases detected today, 686 were identified in Tbilisi, 487 - in Adjara, 356 - in Imereti, 36 - in Kvemo Kartli, 35 - in Shida Kartli, 17 - in Guria, 69 - in Samegrelo and Zemo Svaneti, 24 - in Kakheti, 12 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 30 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti, and 7 - in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.
At present, the number of active infections has reached 14 421, out of which 3 234 are treated at hospitals, o/w 1 577 at healthcare facilities stationed in Tbilisi and 641 in Adjara. Acute health condition is currently observed in the case of 397 patients, out of which 201 are based in Tbilisi and 80 - in Adjara.
Out of them lung ventilators are used in the case of 82 patients, from which 53 are hospitalised in Tbilisi and 12 - in Adjara.
2 025 individuals are admitted at COVID Hotels, out of which 1 110 are based in Adjara and 676 - in Tbilisi. Medical treatment is delivered at home in the case of 9 162 individuals.
4 263 persons are kept in quarantine spaces, out of which 836 are based in Tbilisi and 2 205 - in Adjara.
In total, 7 583 individuals have been transported from the border to hotels in the period of October 6-22, 2020.
As of today, 25 759 individuals are staying in self-isolation, out of which 3 243 are based in Tbilisi, 10 852 - in Adjara and 3 521 - in Imereti.
