Reforms in the education field were discussed today at the Administration of the Government of Georgia Print Version

Issues of pre-school and general education, inclusive education to all, support to higher education and science, analysis of the labor market, employment policy and professional education, informal education and integration of diaspora members - respective issues were discussed during the meeting of the Coordination Council today at the Administration of the Government of Georgia.

Minister of Education AleksanderJejelava opened the meeting. He elaborated on the role of international donors in the process of reforming the education system and thanked them for the support.
Pursuant to the Minister, the donor coordination activities are crucial, since donors assist Government in attainment of important goals through material and technical support - via their qualified experts.
"One of the cornerstones of the Government's 4-point reform plan is the education reform, including new system of professional education, inclusive education and many other directions, in which donors support us and which we prioritize. We try to base our decisions on the world best practices," - AleksandreJejelava noted.

The Government of Georgia conduct regular coordinating meeting to ensure that donor states and organizations are updated on the needs in terms of reforms and development and are able to allocate foreign aid to implement initiatives of the state agencies. International donors assess positively the activities of the Administration of the Government of Georgia.
"We have obtained positive evaluations from our partners regarding meetings of similar format and I hope that today we will be able to define even more specifically the role of the Government and donor organizations in terms of developing of human resources," - deputy head of the Administration of the Government of Georgia Nino Kobakhidze noted.

The meetings represent a continuation of the annual Coordination Forum that was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister. With the support and organization by the Administration of the Government, 6 thematic coordination meetings are held every year to discuss economic growth, human resources, rule of law, good governance and public sector, social welfare and sustainable utilization of national resources.
The meeting of the coordination group on development of human resources was attended by the head of German Embassy's Department of Economic Cooperation and Development Katarina Derkorn and representatives of other diplomatic missions and international organizations.
