Reforms aimed at fostering economic growth were discussed at the administration of the government of Georgia Print Version

Business and investment environment reforms, access to funds, fostering development of SMEs, innovations and technologies, development of tourism and infrastructure as well as utilization of the transit potential, - these topics were discussed during the meeting of the thematic coordination group on economic growth at the administration of the government today.

The Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Irma Kavtaradze and Department Head of Cooperation Programmes of EU Office to Georgia Caido Sireli chaired the first thematic meeting on economic growth.

"Government of Georgia has developed intensive reform agenda, implementation of which is intended in the near future. We provide information to our donors and anticipate that though cooperation with them, we will be able to further strengthen our economic reforms. Hence, we will persevere in achieving success as we have been doing throughout the last years," - Irma Kavtaradze noted.

Department Head of Cooperation Programmes of EU Office to Georgia Caido Sireli welcomed institution of the thematic coordination group on economic growth under the umbrella of the Donor Coordination Agency at the Administration of the Government.

Pursuant to him, the EU relations with Georgia is based upon the European Neighborhood Policy and the Association Agreement.

"The issue of economic growth is compelling for the EU. We will continue supporting Georgia in the future," - Caido Sireli declared.

Government of Georgia arranges thematic coordination group meetings on a regular basis thus ensuring consistent provision of information to donor countries and organizations as well as fostering mobilization of foreign aid related resources. The meetings represent continuation of the annual coordination forum that was held under chairmanship of Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili.
