The meeting of the Government of Georgia was held on February 23, 2010 . The Agenda covered 66 items.
Prior to the meeting the Georgian Prime-Minister Nika Gilauri talked about the yesterday's natural disaster.
Please be advised with the speech delivered by the Prime Minister at the meeting:
"First, I want to present my condolences to those families the members of which died. As you are aware we have 2 dead persons due to the said natural disaster. (Yesterday) 32 m/s speed was registered that qualifies the wind as hurricane.
We faced many problems both in regions and in Tbilisi. Circa 150 houses are left without roofs. Power specialists also faced problems. The state will finance rehabilitation of buildings. And as to the problems of power specialists I want to say that during the peak TELASI switched off up to 50 thousand subscribers. At present Tbilisi enjoys full power supply. As to regions, 130 thousand subscribers were disconnected mainly in Eastern Georgia, Shida Kartli, Kvemo Kartli, Kakheti.
Currently, 80 thousand subscribers are left without electric power and they will be fully supplied with power by the end of the day.
Precise results have not been assessed yet. And we'll inform society to that effect."
