On Establishment of Working Team for Development of a Concept for the Georgian Statistical System Reform
A Working Team developing a statistical reform concept with participation of independent experts was created on the 3rd of December. The goal of this Team is to develop a concept for the Georgian statistical system which will ensure independence of the official statistics and use of statistical methods and techniques in compliance with the international standards.
To develop this concept the Team arranged meetings with business representatives, international donors and public representatives. Meetings with MPs are planned.
The Working Team will present their first version of the reform concept to the Prime Minister at the present day meeting.
The Team must develop the final variant of the statistical reform concept by the end of January and present it to the Government of Georgia for consideration.
