Zurab Nogaideli is on his working visit in the Republic of Azerbaijan

On July 5, 2006 the Prime Minister of Georgia Mr. Zurab Nogaideli was on his one-day working visit in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Minister of Economic Development Irakli Chogovadze and the Minister of Energy Nika Gilauri accompanied him at governmental delegation.

Zurab Nogaideli arranged meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Artur Rasi-Zade and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

At the meetings they discussed many issues, first, the issue regarding purchase of additional natural gas from Azerbaijan (the parties discussed both the volume and the price of the natural gas). They also considered the particular steps of implementation of Karsi-Akhalkalaki-Baku railway projects. They gave appropriate assignments to competent authorities of the both parties in this aspect and the work over this issue will still continue.

The issue of making serious investments in Georgia by private and state enterprises of Azerbaijan, as well as additional steps to be taken in trade and economic relations to ensure more effective performance of free trade agreement made by and between the said two countries are being processed.

Within the framework of the business visit of Zurab Nogaideli it became known that the Meeting of Georgia-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Economic Committee would be held in Georgia in August instead of July where the most important decisions would be made on the all the issues aforesaid.
