Government of Georgia – Appearance 2007

The prime minister presented the newly appointed Minister of Refugees and Resettlement

On November 26, 2007, the Prime Minister of Georgia Lado Gurgenidze presented the new minister, Koba Subeliani to the staff of the Ministry of Refugees and Resettlement.

The prime minister told the staff of the ministry that Koba Subeliani needs no special presentation: "We, the citizens of Tbilisi, all know that he is a person focused mainly on the results which he manifested in his actions not only once.

My colleagues and I are deeply convinced that Koba will not spare his efforts in the new service either and he will also be dedicated to the important work that you are all doing in favor of the population. The time has come that Koba, with all his zest and energy as well as continuous wish of interaction with people will extend his activities beyond the borders of the capital city.

As for financing, we are working on that and naturally we'll go on with fund raising in order to satisfy the needs of the refugees and the displaced persons to the maximum, so that at the background of improved life conditions, they will be able to lead a dignified style of life. The budget and today's financial situation allows us to undertake this endeavor. The work that you all are engaged in does not recognize small details or petty irregularities, because everything is of paramount importance, even the smallest details may become instrumental in improving the conditions of the people belonging to this category.

The new minister has been appointed for already 4 days but he has not even entered his office yet. Instead, he has visited all the places of compact settlements throughout Tbilisi and acquainted himself with their problems within the scopes of the capital city. I am more than sure that he will do the same countrywide and prove able to manage this field all over Georgia", - the prime minister emphasized.
