Prime Minister of Georgia Meets New Head of EUMM in Georgia Print Version

Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia met Bettina Patricia Boughani, newly-appointed Head of the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia today.

Discussion was related to the grave situation witnessed in the occupied territories of Georgia in terms of security, human rights and humanitarian conditions.

Vital role of the EUMM was noted at the meeting in view of the execution of the Cease-Fire Agreement dated August 12, 2008 as well as in peaceful conflict-resolution and prevention of escalation.

According to the Head of Government of Georgia, all the available instruments need to be used to ensure the access of EUMM and the Government of Georgia stands ready to steadily continue cooperation with EUMM as with the only international mechanism available on the ground. Also, the Prime Minister of Georgia welcomes the extension of the EUMM mandate through December 2024.
