    Georgia Has to Purchase Russian Gas

    Georgia was obliged to purchase natural gas from the Russian Federation for some days or a week because as a result of the unforeseen emergency was stopped production of natural ags at the main gas filed of Azerbaijan, - stated the Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Noghaideli today.

    New Year Surprise for Akhaltsikhe Young People

    The charitable actions are in process. On December 9, the birthday of Zurab Zhvania 600 fairy-tales books were sold at a symbolic price in order to bring children from Akhltsikhe to the capital city.

    Last Meetings of Visit in America

    On December 13 the Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Noghaideli visited the World Bank where he held meetings with its president Mr. Paul Wolfowitz. At the press conference held after this meeting the parties stated that they signed the credit agreement in the amount of 20 million USD which will be spent for rehabilitation of Georgian roads. The head of the reforming group of the World Bank assessed the current reforms in Georgia as successful and explained allocation of a new credit with the positive character of those reforms.

    Eighth Day of Visit to America

    On December 12 the Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Noghaideli met the Executive Director of Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC) John Danilovich. During the meeting was underscored the significance of support of this foundation in line of development of infrastructure in Georgia that at the present stage implies rehabilitation of Samthkhe-Javakheti roads, rehabilitation of North-South pipelines and rehabilitation of regional infrastructure. The parties also discussed the possibility of allocation of the second compact (funding) for Georgia by the foundation.

    On December 11 the Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Noghaideli continued his visit to Washington in frames of his trip to the USA. The Washington program was full of many significant meetings.

    Visit of Prime Minister to USA Continues

    On December 6 the Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Noghaideli produced a lecture on the current political and economic reforms in Georgia to the faculty at the Davis University, California. In the evening of the same day he took part in the presentation of Georgian wines.

    Prime Minister’s Visit to the USA Begins

    On December 4 began the visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Noghaideli to the USA. According to the program of visit, on December 5 Zurab Noghaideli produced a speech at the 9th annual conference of the US-Georgia business council held in Seattle. This conference caused a great interest of the American and Georgian business circles. The Prime Minister of Georgia reported on the current economic reforms in Georgia and noted that the macroeconomic stability and attractive business environment will create good conditions for attraction of investments, including American investments in the country.

    Charitable Action in Akhaltsikhe

    In connection with the third anniversary of the rose revolution was held the charitable action. O November 30 and December 1 the employees of the Chancellery of the Government of Georgia (Manana Kartozia, Giorgi Maisashvili, Fridon Petriashvili, Thea Rusia, Eter Turashvili, Tatia Grubelashvili, Nino Chkheidze) visited the Akhaltsikhe public school N 7. This boarding school was selected for its remoteness.
