We want to launch a graduate internship program this year to enable graduates easily to engage in professional life, both in public agencies and private structures, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated at today's meeting with state university students concerning the upcoming graduate internship program.

The Head of Government, together with Minister of Education, Science and Youth Giorgi Amilakhvari, spoke in detail with the students and pointed out that Government pays special attention to youth policy.
"This coming fall, we will introduce a 4-year government program and speak more about how we see the further development of our country's youth policy in general. Of course, special attention must be paid to education, sports, and other related matters. Much can be upgraded, bettered, and this will be one of the constituent parts of our medium-term plans. As for the graduate internship program proper, we intentionally avoided giving it finalized form. We have a draft, our ideas and suggestions, including alternative versions. We want to work on this program and finalize it together with you. Generally, engagement is the best tool to make sure that right decisions are made. No matter how good a goal may be, it may end up being flawed unless it is coordinated properly with relevant communities, citizens, representatives of relevant areas-you students in this particular case. This is why we want this program, which we plan to work on together with you, to be as perfect as possible," the Prime Minister said and added that similar meetings will be held with the students of both private and regional universities in the near future.

According to Irakli Kobakhidze, the main goal of the graduate internship program is to offer students the best possible opportunities for engaging in professional life.

"One of the main things that this working program will give us is that you will complete internships right away, and, in addition, you will receive unique experience that will subsequently allow you to further advance your professional careers," the Prime Minister addressed the students.

The meeting, held in a QA format, was attended by 60 students from various state universities.
