On October 4, in-person studies will resume in classrooms and auditoria, and so will the operations of preschool facilities and children's entertainment centers. This decision was made at today's meeting of the Interagency Coordination Council chaired by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili at the Administration of the Government.
Special attention during the learning process must be paid to scrupulous compliance with the Health Ministry's recommendations. All schoolchildren must wear facemasks, and their parents will still have a choice between their children's in-person attendance and remote learning.

The council reviewed the country's epidemiological trends and the process of vaccination.

The need to wear facemasks both indoors and outdoors was reiterated. The Interagency Coordination Council once again urges citizens to wear facemasks, maintain social distancing, and engage actively in the process of vaccination as the most effective way to fight against the pandemic.

Since the first coronavirus case in Georgia, the country has seen 609,340 confirmed cases, with 580,891 recoveries and 8,884 deaths.

45 persons are presently under quarantine, 744 are in clinical hotels, and 4,360 are hospitalized under medical supervision.

The Parliament of Georgia led by Speaker Kakha Kuchava and the President's Administration are actively involved in the work of the Interagency Coordination Council chaired by the Prime Minister.
