Today, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili held a meeting with healthcare representatives. The meeting focused on the country's epidemiological situation and immunization as the most effective tool in the fight against COVID-19.

The Head of Government underlined the need to mobilizeadditional spaces and vaccination crews in order to accelerate the process of vaccination further, also singling out assistance from clinics as key to this process.

The meeting also discussed clinical resources available for allocating additional beds. Irakli Garibashvili received detailed information on the situation in the hospital sector. According to the Prime Minister, close coordination between the state and the healthcare sector is a must in the effective fight against the pandemic, and the authorities are committed to assisting clinics and ensuring continuous effective management of the epidemiological situation.

The meeting at the Government Administration was attended by Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs Ekaterine Tikaradze, Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia, Director of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health Amiran Gamkrelidze, and Head of the Task Force under the Interagency Coordination Council Giorgi Ghibradze.
