We the Government are doing everything to provide out service members with decent conditions, to put in place social security guarantee for them, and we will continue implementing projects of this kind, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili told the press after familiarizing himself with the ongoing construction of Army City.

The Army City project, expected to be finalized in the summer of 2022, will accommodate 1,050 service members, the Head of Government said.

"We started building Army City in October of 2020. As you can see, 28 buildings have already been completed. The construction company is working very fast, and the project Army City, designed to accommodate 1,050 service members, will be finalized in the summer of 2022. This project, launched a few months ago, is the first phase for 1,050 service members, and then it is planned to launch 5 similar projects in this territory, eventually to make up a new settlement of our hero soldiers-a new neighborhood, a new city. We the Government are doing everything to provide out service members with decent conditions, to put in place social security guarantee for them, and we will continue implementing projects of this kind," the Prime Minister said.

The construction of the large-scale Army City project, launched in the fall of 2020 under Irakli Garibashvili as then Defense Minister, is an active phase of implementation.

On his visit to Mount Makhata to familiarize himself with the implementation of project, the Prime Minister of Georgia was accompanied by Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze and Chief of the Georgian Defense Forces/Major General Giorgi Matiashvili.

The construction of Army City will be finalized in late 2022. The project seeks to build 39 7-story buildings with 1,092 apartments.

As of today, 32 residential buildings are under construction, mostly monolithic construction, with story level parts built and slabs poured between the s=floors, also blocks assembled on lower floors, partition walls erected to separate individual apartments and rooms therein, and façade metal processing underway. Trenches are excavated and shaped for the foundation on the remaining 7 sites.

To improve living conditions for military officers, a partnership was established to consist of service members employed by the Defense Ministry system. In late 2022, service members, depending on the size of the family, will be able to enjoy unprecedented cuts and benefits to buy 50 m2, 80 m2, and 110 m2apartments.

Service members will pay an average of 100 USD per m2 in Army City. To pay the amount, they will be able to take advantage of 0% installment loans instead of secured loans. Areas for children, and internal recreation and parking areas, will be built in Army City.

Army City, an unprecedentedly large-scale project, is vital for the Defense Ministry's social policy Best for the Army!
