The Inter-Agency Coordination Council once again calls on the population to adhere to the regulations as much as possible and to refrain from crowded gatherings.

At the meeting of the Coordination Council led by Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia in the format of a video conference today, following topics were discussed: increase in cases of infection and deterioration of the epidemic around the world and in Georgia. It was noted that given the current picture, special importance is attached to the strict adherence and enforcement of preventive measures.

In order to avoid tightened restrictions and further aggravated epidemiological situation, restrictions on the mobility within the country will remain valid from 21:00 to 05:00 by the decision of the Inter-Agency Coordination Council. Also, COVID restrictions imposed for food outlets on weekends remain in force, which means that they only operate on a delivery service.

At the same time, by the decision of the Coordination Council, control will be most tightened on self-isolation of persons kept in isolation, their contacts and new-entrants to the country. Tightened regulations will also apply to the monitoring of PCR testing of persons after 72 hours of their entry to the country.

Epidemiological safety measures should be tightened as much as possible and active testing should be provided with maximum engagement of employers at enterprises, where cases of COVID infection get detected.

Control on the uniform wearing of facemasks and social distancing will become much tighter. Same applies to crowded gatherings, social events included, which are prohibited under a respective Government Decree.

At the same time, priority groups for vaccination will be gradually increased according to the Expanded Immunization Plan so that the process of vaccination against Covid-19 can proceed as fast as possible.
