Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia presented new Ministers of Justice and Finance at the Executive Government Meeting today.

Thus, Rati Bregadze will serve as a Minister of Justice of Georgia and Lasha Khutsishvili - as a Minister of Finance of Georgia.

As the Head of Government of Georgia noted, Rati is a highly qualified lawyer.

"Mr. Bregadze has been appointed as a Minister of Justice of Georgia. He is a highly qualified lawyer. After graduating from the Law Department of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, he studied at the University of Hamburg to obtain a Master's Degree and a PhD in Law. Rati has been teaching since 2012 and is a professor at the Caucasus University.

I would also like to say that since November 2012 he has held the positions of a Deputy Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Deputy Director of the International Education Center, Deputy Minister of State for Diaspora Affairs, Head of the Department of Diaspora Relations and Deputy Minister of Defense. Rati was a member of the State Constitutional Commission" stated Irakli Garibashvili.

As the Head of Government of Georgia noted, the new Minister of Finance of Georgia has been a long-standing member of the team and knows the system well.

"As for the new Minister of Finance, Lasha has been a long-standing member of the team, so he knows the system pretty well. Namely, he has held the position of a Deputy Minister of Finance since 2014. He is a member of the Steering Group of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and platform initiated by the G20. In 2013-2014 he was the Director General (DG) of the Inland Revenue Service (RS) of the Ministry of Finance (MOF). From 2008 to 2013, he worked at the Big 4 and namely at Ernst & Young leading the tax and legal affairs of the international audit firm. He is a graduate of the Free University Business School (ESM) and mastered Business Administration at the University of Preston. I want to wish Lasha every success in his role as the Minister of Finance of Georgia and I believe he will successfully continue work in the new capacity" stated the Prime Minister of Georgia.

The Head of Government of Georgia expressed his gratitude to Ivane Matchavariani, former Minister of Finance and Gocha Lordkipanidze, former Minister of Justice for their service and wished them success in future endeavours.

"You may well be aware that Gocha Lordkipanidze as well as Vano Matchavariani have resigned from their positions. Mr. Matchavariani was planning to do so back in December, as he noted himself. However, we asked him to stay for a few months. I now want to thank them on behalf of our team and Government of Georgia for their service and wish them success in future endeavours. It is common knowledge that Gocha Lordkipanidze is leaving for the Hague. Yesterday was the last day of his tenure here and I want to express my sincere gratitude and wish him success" stated the Prime Minister of Georgia.
