Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze Appointed Vice Prime Minister

Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze Appointed Vice Prime Minister, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated at today’s Government meeting.

According to the Prime Minister, it is imperative for the Georgian Government’s foreign direction be, as usual, singled out as a priority, and this appointment reaffirms the importance of foreign priorities for Georgia’s future development.

 

“Papuna has taken very successful steps.  I believe the successful finalization of visa liberalization to have been very important, and the lion’s share to this end, of course, goes to the Foreign Ministry.  In addition, while serving as Minister of Economy, Papuna was the key negotiator in the process of formalizing the FTA with Europe.  Thus, we believe that this is a very important decision and the advancement of the foreign direction as a top priority will prove very important for the successful fulfillment  of our country’s European and Euro-Atlantic  aspirations,” the Prime Minister stated.
