On Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili's initiative, the country's large-scale renovation program is starting.
The program aims at urban renovation in 63 municipalities, rehabilitating important monuments of cultural and historical heritage and administrative municipal centers, also at building recreation areas, developing tourism infrastructure, rehabilitating and developing significant public areas in every municipality, urban renovation in every city, resort, and settlement, and creating new leisure, tourist, and public zones.
About 15,000 new jobs will be created under the program.
The inaugural phase of regional renovation is budgeted at 500 million GEL.
