Government of Georgia – Appearance 2007

Working meeting with the prime minister

On December 18, at the Chancellery of the Government of Georgia the stirring-group assembled together with the prime minister in the following representation: Minister of Justice Eka Tkeshelashvili, State Minister Kakha Bendukidze, Chairman of the Parlia-mentary Committee on Regional Policies Pavle Kublashvili, as well as representatives of the prosecutor's office and other governmental bodies.

At the meeting, issues of legalization and inviolability of private property were discussed. As the prime minister noted, it should be analyzed to what extent effective is the operation of the laws on Legalization of Private Property and on Recognition of the Rights of Physical and Juridical Persons on Possession or Utilization of Plots of Land, which were adopted in summer. "Apart from this, I am interested in your ideas, how to achieve (even by way of undertaking constitutional changes and involvement of all the branches of government) cultivation of the feeling that in this country private property is inviolable and that any kind of perpetrations or violations in this respect are prohibited by the Constitution and the law. This is one of the most significant components of the business environment which has recently been created in Georgia; this is the reality that we are facing today and all branches of government should not spare efforts to enhance this situation further. Successful operation of the mentioned laws will be the guarantor for Georgia to continue speedy progress in combating poverty", - stated the prime minister.

Vladimer Gurgenidze noted that similar working meetings will be held in a regular regime.
