Berdia Sichinava: 16 605 tests have been administered in the last 24 hours, resulting in 583 new cases of COVID-19; test-positive indicator today is 3.51% for past 14 days – 4.41% and 7 days – 3.79%; information is already posted to Stopcov.ge

583 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed within the last 24 hours. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press-briefing held today at the Government Administration.

He spoke about the most recent statistics related to COVID-19 and measures taken by the Government of Georgia as of today.

"I am sharing with you the most recent statistical data as of February 4, 2021 as posted to www.stopcov.ge.

Within the scope of intensive testing 16 605 tests have been performed within the last 24 hours, out of which 9 917 were antigen-based express test method and 6 688 PCR.

583 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed within the last 24 hours. Since the detection of the first case, 260 480 cases have been proven test-positive so far in Georgia.

As for the test-positive indicator, the daily rate as of February 3 is 3.51%, for the past 14 days - 4.41% and 7 days - 3.7%.

671 individuals have recovered within the last 24 hours, thus making the total number of recoveries reach 251 748.

Unfortunately, 19 new fatal cases have occurred within the last 24 hours. Since the outbreak, the total death toll has reached 3 240.

Out of 583 new cases detected today, geographic coverage of COVID-19 is as follows: 243 cases have been detected in Tbilisi, 34 - in Adjara, 98 - in Imereti, 46 - in Kvemo Kartli, 31 - in Shida Kartli, 10 - in Guria, 58 - in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 48 - in Kakheti, 2 - in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 9 - in Samtskhe-Javakheti and 4 - in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.

At present, active cases of COVID-19 have reached 5 466, out of which: 2 341 individuals are treated at hospitals, out of which 1 109 are stationed in Tbilisi, 184 - in Adjara and 463 - in Imereti. Acute health conditions are observed in the case of 529 patients, out of which 231 are based in Tbilisi, 45 - in Adjara and 133 - in Imereti. Lung ventilators are used in the case of 153 patients, out of which 107 are stationed in Tbilisi, 6 - in Adjara and 14 - in Imereti. 277 individuals are placed at clinical hotels, out of which 185 are based in Tbilisi, 81 - in Adjara and 11 - in Imereti. 2 848 individuals are treated at home.

430 individuals are placed in quarantine, out of which 200 are located in Tbilisi and 126 - in Adjara.

In total 22 438 individuals have been transported from the sovereign border to quarantine venues from October 6, 2020 through February 6, 2021.

Currently 14 963 individuals are in self-isolation, out of which 9 132 are based in Tbilisi, 759 - in Adjara and 1 541 - in Imereti." announced Berdia Sichinava.
