"Georgia has America's support. We appreciate the sacrifice that you have made in common causes, and also the example you are in a very turbulent region. Georgia is a very powerful symbol. I want to thank you for your leadership, you and your team, and the role you are playing to strengthen the security of the region, staying on the path to NATO and the EU. We very much appreciate having you as a partner," Wess Mitchell addressed Giorgi Kvirikashvili.
The Prime Minister thanked the US Assistant Secretary of State for visiting Georgia shortly after their phone conversation and for participating in the Public Diplomacy Forum.
"Your strong messages of US support of Georgia's Euro-Atlantic integration were noticed and appreciated by everyone here. Georgia stands committed to pursuing consistently the NATO road an European integration, and your assistance on this challenging road is vitally important to us," the Prime Minister said.
During the conversation, Giorgi Kvirikashvili emphasized the positive development dynamics in Georgia-US strategic partnership and bilateral relations.
"2017 was a remarkable year in US-Georgia relations. I would like to recall the historic visit of Vice President Pence to Georgia, as a strong demonstration of the support of the United States, and especially the new Administration, to Georgia's commitment to pursuing the challenging road toward NATO and European integration, and US support to the territorial integrity and democratic development of Georgia. We stand in this challenging region as a loyal ally to the United States, grateful for the existential, important support from the United States to Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity," Giorgi Kvirikashvili stated.
