Prime Minister visits Bishop Svimeon of Surami and Khashuri

Today, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili visited Bishop Svimeon of Surami and Khashuri. The Head of Government also visited Saint Nicholas Cathedral under construction and was briefed on the building process by Bishop Svimeon.

Bishop Svimeon blessed Irakli Garibashvili and wished him success in his endeavors. Bishop Svimeon also informed the Head of Government about the New Bana monastic-educational complex under construction, one identical to the Bana Monastery Complex in Tao-Klarjeti.

According to the Hierarch, New Bana is a crucially important project implemented jointly by the Church and the State.

Irakli Garibashvili pledged to become involved in said project.

On his visit to Bishop Svimeon, the Prime Minister was accompanied by Parliament Speaker Kakha Kuchava, Vice Prime Minister/Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Irakli Karseladze, Head of the Government Administration's Regional Liaison Department Leri Barnabishvili, and Shida Kartli State Representative Valerian Mchedlidze.
