Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia familiarized himself with the course of the works to repair the damage caused by the disaster in the village of Ghari in Racha together with Maia Tskitishvili, vice prime minister and minister of regional development and infrastructure.


The swollen Rioni Riven caused the road near the Ghari Bridge to collapse and damaged the pipes of Oni's central water supply system. Despite this, water is currently being supplied to Oni by alternative means.


Representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure provided the head of the government with information on the ongoing works in the area damaged by the disaster. At the moment, the riverbed is being cleared, after which works to rebuild the road and the water supply system will begin. Households left without water due to damage to the water main network are being supplied with drinking water.

In addition, the restoration of the damaged bridge connecting the villages of Jinchvisi and Gomi is actively underway. Efforts to set up a temporary access road to the bridge have also begun.

Sozar Subari, the Prime Minister's advisor for regional issues, Majoritarian Parliament Deputy Gocha Enukidze, Region Governor Archil Japaridze, Oni Mayor Davit Chikvaidze, deputy ministers of infrastructure and regional development, the deputy minister of internal affairs, and the head of the Emergency Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs also visited the village of Ghari together with the Prime Minister and the vice prime minister.
