On the Interagency Coordination Council’s decision, swimming pools and gyms meeting applicable regulations will reopen; flight schedule has been developed to ensure the orderly return of Georgian citizens from abroad
2020-07-06 Swimming pools and gyms will reopen after examination by the Labor Inspection-this decision was made at today's meeting of the Interagency Coordination Council under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister. Notably, a 14-day quarantine remains mandatory for citizens returning to Georgia. Since the EU included Georgia on its list of 15 safe countries and issued a recommendation to open borders for them, the Georgian Government has been involved in individual bilateral negotiations with EU member states on the reopening of borders. Presently, all relevant procedures to apply bilaterally to travelers are under negotiation with the countries ready to reopen borders. The council's meeting also discussed the process of PCR testing, the country's capacities, and clinical resources. As of today, Georgia has 953 confirmed coronavirus cases, of which 830 have recovered, with 3 citizens transported to Georgia for treatment, and 15 fatalities. The Parliament of Georgia under the chairmanship of Archil Talakvadze and the President's Administration are actively involved in the work of the Interagency Coordination Council led by the Prime Minister.
