"Unfortunately, cybercrime has become one of the most pressing challenges of the 21st century in any country and detailed investigation is necessary in each particular case to make sure that we get a full picture" stated Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia when responding to a question on the cyberattack on TV Pirveli posed by the media today.

Head of Government of Georgia noted that experts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia are working on the investigation of the case.

"It is a very sad fact. First of all, I hope that you will be able to resume a comprehensive broadcasting in the most efficient manner. In general, when we talk about the fight against cybercrime, we need to use the best international experience with a focus on prevention. As a state, we have a lot to do towards this end" added the Prime Minister of Georgia.

Assessment made by some opponents, claiming that development of events around Rustavi2 Broadcasting and cyberattack on TV Pirveli manifest a pressure over media, have been labeled as an attempt to speculate and gain political scores in the opinion of the Head of Government of Georgia.

"One of the greatest achievements of the Georgian Dream is media pluralism and media freedom. It is univocal. Therefore, all these are speculations and attempt of some people to gain a political scores. It does not reflect the reality. We will do our best to protect media freedom and media pluralism and keep such a high standard of even improve it, which has been only possible in the conditions of our governance" concluded the Prime Minister of Georgia.
