PRIME MINISTER OF GEORGIA RULES NEW SCHOOL TO BE CONSTRUCTED FOR 600 PUPILS IN NASAKIRALI SETTLEMENT

New school will be constructed for 600 pupils in Nasakirali Settlement of Ozurgeti Municipality. It was announced by Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia today when meeting children and teachers of the community.

Head of Government of Georgia instructed Maya Tskitishvili, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia to commission the blueprints and start construction of the new school in the most efficient manner within this year.

Youth Centre will be created at the premises of the current one after the new school building gets constructed.

Prime Minister of Georgia focused in the discussions today on his decision to allocate 6% of the Gross Domestic Products (GDP), i.e. quarter of the State Budget for education.

According to the Head of Government of Georgia, budget earmarking for education this year has reached 1.6 BLN GEL, which will increase to 2 BLN GEL next year, 2.5 BLN GEL in 2021, 3.4 BLN GEL in 2022, i.e. 6% of GDP.

Prime Minister of Georgia noted that creation of a pro-learning environment for the youth is a key priority of the Government, as it will help them in realizing their talents and skills. Hence, reform covers 5 pillars: pre-school education, general schooling, vocational education, higher education and science.

Head of Government of Georgia provided information to locals on 7 BLN GEL to be required nation-wide for the construction of schools with modern standards and that authorities will by all means allocate this much to make sure that new and well-equipped schools exist in every region.

Prime Minister of Georgia spoke with community members who gathered in the vicinity of the school and heard their concerns. Locals mainly spoke about their needs to get gas supply and internet access, which will be addressed in the most efficient manner according to the instructions given by the Head of Government of Georgia to relevant entities.
