PRIME MINISTER BELIEVES MOU WITH NEXI TO INCENTIVISE INVESTMENTS FROM JAPAN TO GEORGIA

"Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) concluded by and between Georgia and Japan for indemnifying export and investments will further incentivize Japanese investments in Georgia" stated Mamuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia at a meeting with Musafami Nakada, President of Nippon Export and Investments Corporation (NEXI) today.

Head of Government of Georgia welcomed the signing of the MOU and noted that it will lead to the development of cooperation in trade and investments.

President of NEXI is confident that the agreement will significantly contribute to the establishment and expansion of Japanese businesses in Georgia.

Agreement on the insurance of export and investments signed today by Giorgi Kobulia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and Musafumi Nakada, President of NEXI within the scope of the Japan-Georgia Business Forum aims to support the export of Japanese and Georgian goods and services, facilitation of local companies in ensuring access to the destination markets and enabling of Japanese companies in maintaining the international competitiveness in Georgia. Thus, applicable insurance packages will be offered to the Japanese exporters, investors and financial experts.

MOU predominantly focuses on the development and implementation of macroeconomic policy, production and manufacturing, tourism, energy, transport and logistics, telecommunications and high-tech, trade and export facilitation, public property management, construction policy, investments, etc.

NEXI is a Japanese government corporation specialized in export credits. It indemnifies Japanese exporters, investors and financial service providers. NEXI aims to facilitate the export of Japanese goods and services, expansion of Japanese businesses overseas and stable supply of natural resources from foreign countries through such insurance products as export credits, investments and loan insurance.
