Prime Minister’s Meeting with US Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn

Today, Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze met with US Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn.

The parties discussed US-Georgia strategic partnership and emphasized the high level of bilateral political relations.
The Prime Minister of Georgia thanked Senator Cornyn for supporting the 2019 State Foreign Operations and Related Programs Appropriation Bill increasing support for Georgia from 105 million to 125 million USD.

Special emphasis was placed on Georgia's ongoing and planned reforms, the country's role in the region, and the potential for intensifying economic ties.

The parties also discussed the regional situation and singled out Georgia as a reliable support of the US in the region.

The meeting in the Senate was attended by Georgia's Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani and Georgia's Ambassador to the US Davit Bakradze.
