The Cabinet session was held today at the Administration of the Government under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili. The Cabinet discussed 33 issues placed on the agenda.

Fiber-optic Internet network will be created in more than 2000 cities and villages - "State Program on Broadband Infrastructure Development in Georgia" was approved during today's Cabinet session. The Program envisages construction of broadband fiber-optic infrastructure across Georgia to ensure Internet access in areas where this utility was not accessible before or was provided at a low quality or in a limited mode. Open access points will be arranged to enable providers and operators to provide high-quality Internet, TV broadcasting and other relevant services to the local residents. Project is financed by Cartu Fund and implemented by "OpenNet" established under the initiative of Innovation and Technology Agency of the Ministry of Economy.

198 families of the IDPs will be gifted apartments in Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Khoni and Lagodekhi. Since October 2012, 12 052 IDP families were transferred the ownership over the housing.

The draft regulation according to which 291 trainers, sports physicians and administrative personnel will receive overall 3 849 650 GEL as a bonus for the attained success in the sports.
