Head of Government Administration Revaz Javelidze participates in High-Level Roundtable on Anti-Corruption in the Hague, holds bilateral meetings in parallel
2022-11-29 Revaz Javelidze, Head of the Government Administration, is participating in the High-Level Roundtable on Anti-Corruption held on November 28-29 in the Hague, the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The event serves the purpose of enhancing the effectiveness of the joint fight against all forms of corruption. At the high-level meeting, along with the issue of the establishment of an international anti-corruption court, the participants also discuss new proposals and ways to fight against corruption. The Head of the Government Administration paid attention to the empowerment of anti-corruption mechanisms and structures, and informed the attending audience about the legislative changes designed to establish an anti-corruption bureau as an independent legal entity of public law. He pointed out that the establishment of an anti-corruption bureau will strengthen the country's mechanisms of fighting against corruption, consequently further upgrading the existing practice and drawing it closer to the European standard. Revaz Javelidze also spoke about Georgia's European integration and European perspective, and reaffirmed Georgia's unwavering commitment to becoming a full member of the European family. In parallel with the event, Revaz Javelidze held bilateral meetings with the Foreign Minister of Bulgaria, the State Secretary of Croatia, and the Deputy Foreign Ministers of Romania and North Macedonia. The conversations at the meetings touched on deepening economic ties, also on the importance of bolstering connectivity with the EU and concrete steps taken in this direction. The parties also reviewed the regional security situation.
