2019-06-03 The Competition Commission for Selecting State Inspector has presented to the Prime Minister of Georgia two candidates, Valeri Lomuashvili and Londa Toloraia, for the Office of State Inspector. The competition was announced on the website of the Civil Service Bureau (http://www.hr.gov.ge/) on May 17, 2019. The Administration of the Government of Georgia disseminated information about the announced competition. The Deputy Public Defender, representatives of NGOs, and one MP who was on a field trip at the time failed to report to the June 1 meeting of the commission, but interviews were held nonetheless, because the commission's majority was still present. Of the 7 candidates, 5 reported to the meeting. By the decision of the commission's majority, two candidates were endorsed for the Office of State Inspector and presented to the Prime Minister. In order to select candidates for the Office of State Inspector, the Competition Commission for Selecting State Inspector was established at the Administration of the Government of Georgia on April 23. In line with the requirements of Georgian legislation, the commission consisted of representatives of the Georgian Government, the Parliament of Georgia, the Supreme Court of Georgia, the NGO sector, and the Public Defender's Office.
