It is a great honor to wish you a happy feast day of Svetitskhoveli. It is with enormous love and respect that I wish a happy feast day to our Patriarch, each citizen of our land, all true Orthodox Christians, the Holy Synod, honorable priests, monastics - I wish a happy feast day to all of you, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated at the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral where he attended the Divine Liturgy celebrating the church's parish feast.

According to the Head of Government, Svetitskhoveli has always been and will forever remain a symbol of eternity, unity, and resilience for Georgians.

"For us Georgians, the Svetitskhoveli Feast is a special day, and this unique holy ground, the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, has always been and will forever remain a symbol of eternity, unity, and resilience. His Eminence Metropolitan Shio, in his sermon, eloquently explained the reason behind the survival of the Georgian nation. Indeed, it is undisputed common knowledge that the Georgian nation has survived thanks to the Faith and Mother Church, explaining why the Georgians are known for their unique devotion to the Lord, our Faith and Church. Naturally, our nation has been through a lot, and even now we are facing difficult times, but our faith in the Lord, and His assistance, will see us through, and the country will make it through. My dear fellow citizens, today the country needs more unity, more love, more peace. Thank God, the recent developments ended in peace, and we believe, we strongly believe in our future, and we hope that Georgia will reunite, our nation will reunite, and our country will emerge victorious. May God bless our country." The Prime Minister said.

Officiated by Locum Tenens of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All-Georgia, Metropolitan Shio of Senaki and Chkhorotsku, the Divine Liturgy was attended by the Prime Minister accompanied by Parliament Speaker Kakha Kuchava and representatives of the executive and legislative branches.
