Intensive work is underway, with about 300 rescuers engaged, and I assure you that we will answer every question, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili told the press today after familiarizing himself with rescue efforts on the site of a collapsed residential building in Batumi.

According to the Head of Government, numerous versions explaining the incident are floating, but it is up to the investigation to identify the actual reason.

"It is very tragic. Our services and rescuers are doing everything to clear the territory in a timely manner. According to our information, about 15 people are trapped in ruins. About 300 rescuers are working on the ground, and they have been provided with all necessary means. Intensive work is in full swing. I do not want to discuss possible reasons in advance. Naturally, an investigation has been launched, and it will get to the bottom of it all. There are many versions circulating, and I assure you that we will answer every question. I will hear versions suggested by the Interior Minister, and he has already made public statements. But it is too early to jump into conclusions. Instead, we must wait for the results of investigation and, firstly, pray for the survival of those trapped," Irakli Garibashvili stated.
