Georgia is a country of religious diversity, known for its rich background of exceptional tolerance and cooperation. And it was to develop and strengthen these very traditions that in 2014, under Mister Irakli Garibashvili as Prime Minister, the State Agency for Religious Issues was established, Head of the Government Administration Ilia Darchiashvili stated during today's presentation of the latest photobook by State Agency for Religious Issues, Tbilisi's Religious Monuments as of 2020.

According to Darchiashvili, the new publication is the first to bring together information about every operating, new or old, religious building run by all religious organizations in Tbilisi.

The successful work of the State Agency for Religious Issues since inception seven years ago proves that the Prime Minister's initiative to create it was a prudent one, Ilia Darchiashvili added.

According to Chairman of the State Agency for Religious Issues Zaza Vashakmadze, thanks to the efforts of the leaders and clerics of various religious organizations, information and photo materials for the photobook were collected. The publication is unique in that it is the first to incorporate full and exhaustive information on all operating religious buildings (both old and newly built) run by every religious organization.

The photobook lists their exact numbers, identifying the address and name of each building, featuring their photos, and indicating their date of construction and status, whether they are monuments of cultural heritage, also identifying congregation leaders/rectors, and detailed information on Tbilisi's religious map based on census data.

The event was attended by First Deputy Parliament Speaker Gia Volski and representatives of religious organizations operating in Georgia.
