It is a joy to see a new destination created to enable visitors to enjoy the cave and familiarize themselves with its history, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said during his visit to Tetra Cave in the village of Khomuli, Tskaltubo Municipality.

Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture/Vice Prime Minister Levan Davitashvili briefed the Prime Minister on the new tourist attraction.

According to Levan Davitashvili, Tetra, an ancient cave famous for its stalactites, opened in 2021. A special area is arranged in the cave facilitating wine ageing and allowing visitors to enjoy various local varieties of wine.

This ecotourism destination allows for holding exhibitions, conferences, and traditional festivals of Georgian and foreign wines. It is planned to build the first wine shops carrying wines aged in the cave.

Implemented with private investments, the project's value is almost 400,000 GEL. A visitor center, a wine-tasting and tourist areas, and trails have been built in the cave's territory. Tetra is also equipped with fire and emergency systems, and outdoor and indoor lighting, meeting international standards. Tetra Cave is the first of its kind to be adapted to the needs of persons with limited abilities.

On his visit to Tetra Cave, the Prime Minister was accompanied by Parliament Speaker Kakha Kuchava, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Irakli Karseladze, Justice Minister Rati Bregadze, and Imereti State Representative Zviad Shalamberidze.
