And this is not just words but the lasting experience of cooperation that we share, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said in Guria where he introduced the local authorities at the State Representative's Administration to newly appointed State Representative Giorgi Sakhokia and Head of the Regional Policy and Coordination Service at the Government's Administration Konstantine Ananiashvili.
The Head of Government emphasized the coordinating role of the State Representative between local and central authorities, something especially important in 2021.
"I am confident that working with Giorgi Sakhokia here will be effortless. We cannot and will not waste resources. I want you to remember-and this is of decisive importance-the main function of the State Representative is coordination between the Government and local authorities. 2021 will be critically important in this regard. Neither side can count on slacking or compromising. We are in the middle of a deep economic crisis that we must gradually exit. The situation will be especially difficult in the regions. Firstly, we must carry out vaccination smoothly. Then we must revive the economy, hold elections, and many more, and all that must be properly coordinated," Giorgi Gakharia said.
According to the Head of Government, the Government Administration's Regional Policy and Coordination Service will be led by Konstantine Ananiashvili who will ensure fast and effective decision-making.
"I can assure you that, through the State Representative, I will be informed of any issue within 15 minutes, not longer. Decisions will be made fast whenever it is possible. And you will be informed if a given issue takes longer or cannot be solved, and let's turn the page. Simple solutions and fast results must be our mode of operation in 2021, which is why Giorgi Sakhokia will be working with you, and Konstantine Ananiashvili's office is next to mine," the Prime Minister said.
Regional meetings will be held weekly, a factor further to contribute to better coordination, Giorgi Gakharia added.
